New Kawasaki Ninja 650 launch price Rs 6.24 L – with Two colour options

2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650, showcased at the EICMA Show, has just been launched in India. It is a mid capacity sports tourer that borrows some of its looks from both the Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja 400. Bookings are now open for the new Ninja 650 which is priced at Rs.6.24 lakhs, higher by Rs.35,000 over its 2019 model.
Feature updates on the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 includes new LED headlamps, a 4.3” full color TFT display and revised fairing. It also gets Bluetooth via Kawasaki’s Rideology app and GPS making it the first sub liter Kawasaki to receive these features.

The new Ninja 650 also gets better pillion seating which is wider than before and with a taller backrest. The windshield has also been refurbished and is now lower and flush fit with the upper cowl.
2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets 17” alloy wheels fitted with Dunlop Sportmax D214s tyres as against Dunlop Sportmax D214 tyres on the older model, measuring 120/70-ZR17 front and 160/60-ZR-17 rear are also a part of its makeover. Fuel tank capacity of 15 liters remains unchanged.
The new Ninja 650 sits on a steel trellis frame contributing to kerb weight of 196 kgs. Dimensions remain unchanged while seat height is at 790 mm. There are also new colour options – Lime Green Ebony and Pearl Flat Stardust White.

There are no changes seen to engine specifications, except for that it is now BS6 compliant. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 continues to be powered by the 649cc, liquid cooled, 4 stroke, parallel twin, FI (fuel injection) engine offering 68 PS power at 8,000 rpm but torque has been reduced marginally from 65.7 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm to 64 Nm. The engine gets mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
Suspension and braking remains unchanged with 41mm telescopic fork in the front and preload adjustable shock at the rear. Braking is via dual piston calipers with 300 mm petal discs in the front and single piston caliper with 220 mm disc at the rear. Dual channel ABS is offered as standard.
