Triumph Tiger 900 to be launched in India soon

Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch the Tiger 900 in India soon and has already listed the adventure motorcycle on its website.


The new Tiger 900 has been completely overhauled as compared to the Tiger 800 series. To begin with, the nomenclature has changed and the motorcycle is now available in six variants internationally- base Tiger 900, Tiger 900 GT, Tiger 900 GT Low, Tiger 900 GT Pro, Tiger 900 Rally and the top-spec Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

The Tiger 900 GT range is road-biased and rides on alloy wheels. Suspension hardware consists of a Marzochhi-sourced setup for the front and rear with 180mm travel. The setup offers compression, pre-load, and rebound adjustment.

On the other hand, the Tiger 900 Rally, rides on spoke wheels and gets equipment suited to its off-road character. The motorcycle uses a Showa suspension setup with 240mm of travel at the front and 230mm of travel at the rear. As for braking, both motorcycles get Brembo Stylema calipers with a twin-discs for the front and a single disc for the rear.

In terms of features, Triumph has equipped the new Tiger 900 to the brim. It comes with five riding modes, traction control, and a new full-colour, 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, the Pro variants also boast of heated grips, shift assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.

The motorcycle draws power from a new 888cc, inline-three motor that puts out 87Nm at 7250rpm, which is 10 per cent more torque than the Tiger 800. However, it continues to produce 94bhp which is the same as its predecessor.

The Tiger 900 gets revised styling as well and looks much sleeker than before. It gets a slimmer fuel tank and a sharper ‘beak’. Although the most distinguishable element of the new design is the aggressive full-LED headlamp. Triumph has also revised the ergonomics of the Tiger 900 by making the seat narrower and pulling the handlebar 10mm closer to the rider.

We can expect Triumph to launch the Tiger 900 once India comes out of lockdown. It is likely to demand a higher price than the model it replaces and cost anywhere between Rs 12.5 lakh to Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom).

            BMW R 1250 R & R 1250 RT launched in India The BMW R 1250 R is priced at Rs 15.95 lakh, while the R 1250 RT is priced at Rs 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom).   BMW Motorrad has launched two new motorcycles in the Indian market, the R 1250 R and the R 1250 RT.
